Please note that sales tax WILL BE charged on any item listed with a salvage title; a salvage vehicle is not considered a motor vehicle for tax purposes. A salvage vehicle is treated and taxed the same as any other tangible personal property and is taxed under Texas Tax Code Chapter 151. For any salvage vehicles an individual OR licensed dealer purchases, you must either pay the limited sales tax or issue a valid and properly completed limited sales tax resale certificate. For Texas dealers, a "P" number is not sufficient to claim an exemption on the sales tax. A dealer, just like the general public, may purchase a salvage vehicle tax-free by issuing a valid and properly completed sales tax resale certificate if purchasing the unit for resale. This resale certificate must include your 11 digit number issued by the State of Texas. Successful bidders will be given Storage Lien For Licensed Vehicle Storage Facility (Form VTR-265-VSF) papers which Texas residents may take to the County Tax Assessor where they will pay all applicable State transfer fees and be issued a new Texas Title. Out of state/country residents should NOT bid on this item without checking with their state/country as the State of Texas will not issue a title to a non-resident. AS-IS; Current condition UNKNOWN.
